“Negotiate your own writing goals and audience expectations regarding conventions of the genre, medium, and rhetorical situation”

I believe what this Course Learning Outcome is saying is that your intended audience has to match the genre of the document. I believe that the audience analysis sheet was the main thing that helped me out with this Course Learning Outcome. The reason as to why I say this is because once I have chosen the audience and did background research about them then that would eventually shape the genre of the document.

For instance, on my Memo you can see how I did my research on their background and how it affected the genre of the overall document.
